So thankful about my Honorable Mention for one of my pictures at the SPIDER AWARD 2025, the 20th annual Edition... WOW!!! Respect!! Category Fine Art_Amateur_ with the Picture "body of Snow". Especially as this shot actually means a lot to me, because I have never been so close to myself and my photography as on that day when this picture was taken. It was one of those days where I felt that what I do shapes me and fascinates me again and again. I am beyond honoured and genuinely speechless to have been awarded First Place /Outstanding Achievement in Fashion - Professional at the 20th Annual Black & White Spider Awards. To stand among so many extraordinary photographers from around the world, and to have my work selected by such a remarkable panel of curators, editors, and creative directors whose work I have admired for years, is an incredible privilege. This monochrome has always felt like the purest way to strip fashion back to its emotional core, and to be recognised for that vision in the Fashion category means everything to me. I have just returned from a gallery opening to find I have won 1st place in the Americana section of the Spider Awards. Photography for me is an excuse to lose myself in music. To search for images that transcend my experience and resonate with complete strangers. To look for structure amidst the chaos of dance and musicianship. The Bluesman on Beale was photographed in Memphis last year. I have always loved this image for the way the slats on the wall appear to extend into the strings of the guitar, the down slope of his shoulders in counterpoint to the rise of his instrument, the discordant jumble of the framed pictures on the wall contrasting with the imagined harmony of the music.
